The challenge
A poultry integrator running contract farming at scale needed one system to replace spreadsheets across the whole lifecycle: placing day-old chicks with contract farmers, procuring feed and medicine from multiple suppliers, tracking daily production, selling birds, and settling payments with farmers — with financial reconciliation accurate enough to replace manual calculation entirely, not just look plausible.

Approach
- 01Modeled contract batches end-to-end — from day-old chick placement through bird lifting and sale — with per-farmer, per-batch cost and P&L accounting
- 02Built multi-party procurement ledgers (hatcheries, feed suppliers, medicine suppliers, transporters) with invoice-level payments, lump-sum payment allocation, and credit-balance handling
- 03Built a daily production ledger (mortality, feed consumption, FCR, body weight) as the single source of truth feeding automated stock reconciliation and industry-standard performance metrics (FCR, CFCR, EPEF, livability)
- 04Automated Growing Charge (GC) settlement with farmers — incentives, deductions, mishandling adjustments, and TDS computed and reconciled to the paisa
- 05Built dues/aging tracking across all four party types with configurable grace periods and thresholds, full account statements, and PDF/Excel exports
- 06Enforced business rules at the API layer — batch lifecycle locking, transactional stock/mortality reconciliation, and FIFO/FEFO lot drawdown
Outcome
- Financial reconciliation (P&L, GC settlement, dues) verified to match hand-computed reference figures, not just internally consistent
- One production ledger as the single source of truth for mortality and stock, removing double-counting across concurrent data-entry workflows
- Lookup-table-driven configuration lets the business extend categories (mortality causes, expense types, payment modes) without code changes
